Lawrenceville, GA. Gail Stephens, lovingly known to family as "Gammy", was born July 11, 1916 in Charleston, WV, and passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 19, 2016. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Tom Stephens on September 4, 1934, they moved to Victoria, Texas where she raised two children and was an active member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church. Lawrenceville, GA. Gail Stephens, lovingly known to family as "Gammy", was born July 11, 1916 in Charleston, WV, and passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 19, 2016. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Tom Stephens on September 4, 1934, they moved to Victoria, Texas where she raised two children and was an active member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church. Once Tomie and Fred started school, she worked for 13 years as an assistant to the registrar of Victoria College. In her spare time, Gail loved to craft, crochet, travel and play cards! More recently she moved to Lilburn, GA where she became a member of the Campus Church of Christ and a beloved part of the Gwinnett Christian Terrace Community. Eventually she moved to Lawrenceville, GA to live out her final days with her grandson, Steve Galbreath and his family. This summer she enjoyed a grand 100th birthday party surrounded by many friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Thomas Ulysses Stephens; her parents, William J. and Myrtle Dell Brandenburg; her sisters Myrtle Leah Brandenburg, Kathryn Miller, and Nell M. "Babe" White; her children, Tomie Gail Galbreath and Charles Frederick Stephens; and her son-in-law, Robert Joe Galbreath.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Frances Newman (Desmond) Foreman; grandchildren, Thomas Ryan (Cynthia) Stephens, Robert Stephen (Roxanne) Galbreath, Jeffrey Burton Galbreath, Carol Rene (Ray) Pomering, Charles Talbot (Trish) Stephens and William Brandenburg Stephens; great-grandchildren, Robert Benjamin (Sara) Galbreath, Alexander Ryan Stephens, Kevin Kirk Galbreath, Kristen Lee Galbreath, Elizabeth Anne Stephens, Brittany Michelle (Joshua) Marvin, Efren Platas Trevino and Stephanie Platas; and great-great grandchildren, Amaya Marvin and Penny Marvin.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5-6 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.

A graveside service will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
