Dorris Louise Kennedy Holzheauser, 95, of Inez passed away March 11, 2017. She
was born February 2, 1922 in Inez to the late James Carl and Minetta Rosa Dincans
Kennedy. Dorris grew up on the Kennedy Ranch helping her mother and father care for their
cattle. She attended elementary school in Inez, riding her pony to get to class and graduated from high school in Edna. Growing up during the Great Depression, her young adulthood was greatly influenced by World War II. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of...

Dorris Louise Kennedy Holzheauser, 95, of Inez passed away March 11, 2017. She
was born February 2, 1922 in Inez to the late James Carl and Minetta Rosa Dincans
Kennedy. Dorris grew up on the Kennedy Ranch helping her mother and father care for their
cattle. She attended elementary school in Inez, riding her pony to get to class and graduated from high school in Edna. Growing up during the Great Depression, her young adulthood was greatly influenced by World War II. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master's Degree from the University of Houston and also attended A La Sorbonne Cooking School in France. She married Willard D. Holzheauser on March 10, 1946. She was a homemaker and a teacher for the Industrial Independent School District. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, she played the church organ and helped with the annual Oyster Supper for over
50 years. She enjoyed dominoes, gardening, crabbing, fishing, their Port O'Connor bay
house and the stock market. Dorris loved traveling with her favorite aunt, Lennie LaRoux to South America and Europe. Mrs. Holzheauser was also a member of the Victoria Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Holzheauser (Judy) of Houston and Steve
Holzheauser (Debbie) of Austin; four grandchildren, Cal Kennedy Holzheauser, Justin
Douglas Holzheauser, Brittany Elizabeth Holzheauser and Craig Steven Holzheauser.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard D. Holzheauser.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Rosewood
Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 10 am at Emmanuel Lutheran
Church in Inez with Jay Tegeler officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cal and Elizabeth Holzheauser, Justin Holzheauser, Brittany Holzheauser, Craig Holzheauser and Felix Garcia.
