Dorothy Emily Quast Hersey, 98, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She was born June 13, 1919 in Yoakum to the late Emil Anton and Lillie Richter Quast. Dorothy served her country in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a bookkeeper and administrative assistant for the Cliburn Cattle Company. Upon retiring she volunteered as a Pink Lady for Citizens Medical Center. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her sons, John Hersey (Sally), and James Hersey (Vanessa); 4 grandchildren, Scott Hersey (Brittany), Luke Hersey, Brian Hersey (Ashley) and Sara Hull (Jason) and 4 great-grandchildren, Ella, John Luke, Gavin and Maverick. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Prescott T. Hersey and a brother, Robert Quast.

Visitation will be from 9 - 10 am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 am with Rev. John Waak officiating. Private graveside services with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 4102 N. Ben Jordan, Victoria, Texas, 77901.
